Never let me go

I’m a jewel that shines real bright

If my conditions are really right

If you love me and cherish me too

You can see all the different things I’ll do

I love deep and I give my all

But that doesn’t mean that I’m a fool

I love hard and I care a lot

I don’t like love that’s cold then hot

I need to be the precious one

In your life and heart

Although I let you play at times

I know we’ll never part

Not if you love me true and through

That’s all I really want from you

To be your baby kind and sweet

To be your favourite kind of treat

To know that each and every day

I am yours in every single way

I won’t betray you

So don’t betray me

I am still open

So trust in me

I am not a short term girl

I am a precious sort of pearl

A rare find in this world of ours

I could sit and talk for hours

About what I am and what you mean to me

As long as you remain keen of me

You can play with others too

But just remember who is who

That you will always come home to me

Talk with freedom and honesty

I’ll obey you most of the time

But what is the purpose of my rhyme?

To let you know that I do care

That my earlier poem did quite scare

But I want you to know something right now

That as long as you make a solemn vow

To love me and keep me for all your days

I will honour you in all your ways

But treat me bad and break my heart

Be sure, that vengeance will be stark

Because I’m tired of the pain

Of loving again and again

Only to love in vain

And be alone once again

Giving love to tricksters who do not care

To be hurt again I could not bear

So many times I’ve been broken

Used again like a temporary token

Don’t I deserve to love and keep?

Do I deserve to cry and weep?

Feeding pride and ego too

For people who keep me in the blue

Why can’t I love someone?

Who will cherish me in return?

Someone who will shield me from the sun

So that I will never burn!

The love I give is deep and tense

For I do give my all

Anything you want my love

Just give me a call

But don’t cast me aside at all

Adore me all you can

Because I need husband

That is a protective sort of man

His pride and joy that would be me

Though submissive I’ll be free

Because I would know he loves me much

I will be tender with my touch

Because he loves me so

Because he will never let me go!

Lost poetry & young love

The world has lost seven new poems in the past two days.

When I write a poem I am in a certain emotional state or a semi-trance and I write them; if I am disturbed sometimes it is OK if it is for a few seconds, but seven poems in the past two days has been interrupted for five minutes or more with much needed emotional feedback which meant the poem was half finished and the flow was gone, so they got deleted.

I never get the flow back ever again when a poem has been interrupted in its creation, there were times in the past I put the unfinished poems into a folder on my computer and I have tried to get back into that space but it never happens – so poems that are disturbed like that are lost forever, so now I delete them.

Every poem I write always ends up on my blog; this is another reason why my blog has been so quiet.  There is a lot of emotional turmoil going on within the house and people want my response to what’s going on because I am the mother of the house; however, when you are mother of a house where your opinion doesn’t matter, what can I do other than sit there, give whatever emotional support I can, sit and shrug and say – “you know I can’t do anything about love”.

Its hard being a mother to a child and making suggestions for that child when the father has opposing ideas and is very strong-minded and shoots my opinions down like we’re in a war against each other!

It’s even harder when you know your child has come to you to speak to you in private because he doesn’t want his dad to get on his case again for his honest opinion about the situation.  So when he asks you for help, you have no choice but to talk to the father and then realise that the father seeks the child about it and starts the mini wars again. So the child asks for help, you tell them, I need to speak with dad and he asks you not to, or sometimes he says ok, but you know it’s always the same. It’s more difficult than you can know!

It is very difficult knowing too, that when you tell your child you are separating and in a few months’ time will be moving out – that this child choses to stay with the person he rarely goes to for any emotional comfort simply because he wants to stay in this house (which he will inherit as it’s in a trust for him) and to stay in his school with his friends because he doesn’t like the concept of change.

It’s hard because you know in your heart that his emotional declination is almost assured if he stays.

But as stupid and irresponsible as it sounds, my child is thirteen in May and in my opinion I should honour his life decisions whether or not it hurts me – that’s the kind of liberal parenting I do.  It’s all about my child, not me, that’s the way I am.

His father is much more conservative about raising children, education comes before anything – that includes emotions. I often joke that Paul is like a cross between Data and Spock, but in actuality it isn’t funny!

There are times when Henry gets emotional about not being able to do a question in his homework and I swear Paul is struggling to hold back from saying “Being emotional about this question is illogical, you need to do the homework now and do the emotional reflection later.”

It’s Henry’s choice to stay here and I am not going to wrench him away from what he wants, simply because my ego has told me I know better than him.

Maybe I am a bad parent, but for me, I want him to be happy and thrive in a way that doesn’t cause any unnecessary stress for him, also he has a girlfriend, he is dating already and so who can split up young love like that without having some huge pangs of guilt?

Thanks for reading…

My idea of romance

Is not what you find in the average romance novel, sorry, well, not the ones my mother shoved down my throat when I was growing up – ew!

Though I reckon my idea of romance is too way out there for the modern day too, a little old-fashioned or a little too fantasy based.

I have a lot of old fashioned values.  I believe man and woman has their place and this is hard to hear according to some of my friends which are super modern feminists or who know I am bisexual.

Here are my core beliefs about men and women;

Man is the protector and must have what it takes to physically and verbally defend his woman whenever necessary.  Unfortunately I have seldom come across anyone who fits the stereotypical protective male role; basically I’ve been on my own under confrontation from strangers whilst the guy I was dating was there.

The woman is the nurturer moral and emotional supporter of the whole family, not just the kids, but the man as well and must be patient and understanding with the man when he is having a bad day.

Basically as women, it’s our job to ensure that our husband’s day doesn’t get any worse – we have to cheer him up, we have to spoil him as it were with good food and snuggles and kind words.

Both the man and the woman should be completely honest with each other at all times, trust and honesty as well as a deep friendship are the keys to a longstanding relationship – if you don’t have that, then you don’t have a proper relationship in my opinion!

Whenever I hear my friends say that they can’t date their best friend I pity them, because relationships need friendship as its foundation, don’t you think?

I am also traditional in the sense that when you choose to have children, you need to have a career that works around them, not vice versa.  Your children’s well-being and presence in your life should be the priority.  I know it is hard for some women, especially single mothers – I understand you, but this is what I believe.  There are options for working at home, that’s all I am saying!

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that women should be able to have whatever rights they desire – but just don’t force your ideas on other more traditional women like me!

I have been discriminated against for my beliefs of being a stay at home mother before I got sick, because in the opinions of other local women, women like me are disgusting and lazy and are seriously damaging the women’s right campaign.

At the time, before I got sick, I was actually trying to hone my skills in social care and tried to fix the house up by taking Paul out of his hoarder’s paradise, to consider becoming a foster mother as a job.  Which I know I would have loved!

But for me – romance is nothing like Mills and Boon, choose any novel there you like!

For me, my idea of the perfect romance is what Morticia and Gomez Addams have!

Seriously!

A partner you can listen to music with and randomly get up and dance with around the living room, smooching, swaying and snuggling and embarrassing your kids!

A partner who’d bring you a regular dose of flowers for the house so you can rearrange them around the house with maybe some of your own cut flowers from your own garden too!

A partner who wants to take you on one to one picnics occasionally, or sends the children away to friends or family for the night so we can have a homemade candlelight dinner with just the two of us!

A partner who isn’t stuck in a rut in regards to bedroom matters and is adventurous and spontaneous.

I want a guy who will teach me how to tango with him and maybe roleplay with him and silly things like this.

I like vain men who have big egos, especially if I know they like to look meticulous in public but behind closed doors he won’t moan at me when I scruff up his hair and give him cute nicknames…

I like to be very hands on with my guys, I like to give and receive massages and so forth and I am very good at reiki, I’ve been told I should be a practitioner, but I am not interested in that for a career.  I like to touch and be touched and I have a real problem with rejection when I put my hands on a guy in bed and they flinch or tell me to get off – when we’re supposedly engaged, you get me?

I like guys who don’t want sex over and done within thirty minutes if you are lucky – I like long nights, not just dip and collapse with no build up or tease, you know?

A big part of a relationship to me is talking… talk a lot… talk about everything, be open, share your day, share your ideas, play with ideas and make plans to ensure your life never gets boring together – always try new things, not just sexually, but in life in general!

I think that when you bond with a life partner, there should be a sort of effort to have an unspoken language between you or keywords, where you can communicate with each other privately but in public too – it’s a lost art for these times, but it was quite common pre-Victorian era.  Fan or hand language, language of flowers and little innuendos that only you and he knew the meaning of.

I show my love by cooking for the person in my life, by asking them if they want help with something or by doing things they’ve specifically asked for.  I like to bond with them by writing out my thoughts and feelings and reading it to them and hope they’d tell me more about themselves too.

I like the idea of a relationship where we motivate each other all the time to become the best that we can be, we always challenge each other!

I even like a little mock fighting – knowing we will never truly hurt each other’s feelings, it’s all play and end up wrestling each other to bed or something!  This is why I love the tango a lot, oh and the paso doble!

I have a lot of fire in me, a lot of passion and I need someone with a lot of energy and creativity and desire to be playful with me!

I think this is another reason why I love the BDSM lifestyle a lot, there is a lot of fun light-hearted roleplay there, with kinks and spanks and other delights – it’s not meant to be vicious and bullying!

I want someone ready to take on my challenges with me and me with theirs!  Together we’ll ride the storm!

I have never been comfortable with this is their problem and these are my problems and we live separately like that – I believe in sharing and caring about each other a lot!

I really don’t like it when I know a partner is upset about something going on in their lives and they won’t tell me about it, because I hate feeling helpless and I hate not knowing and I hate not being able to lighten the load for them!

It literally kills me inside!

I have had exes in the past who hated the way I treat them at times, because I apparently smother them, mother them and sometimes I’ve been accused of babying them!

I don’t see it; I just see it as maybe caring too much?

Maybe I go overboard, but it’s just me!

So yes, I want love like Morticia and Gomez Addams… you get me?

Someone with all the above and someone to live in mutual weirdness with!

Oh and can match my libido!

Thanks for reading!

To whom it may concern

OK, I am being weird again, sorry guys!

My spirits woke me up today with a huge fright – don’t know why I woke up suddenly but it felt like I was frighten awake by something, like I was dragged awake.

They told me when I was still drowsy in just waking up, that I need to put this message out there into the world.

They told me the person who wants to come into my life is struggling a lot at the moment with family matters and obstacles that are beyond my understanding at this moment in time.

The person is emotionally exhausted trying to balance things and formulate a plan to be in my life.

He feels he needs the support of friends and family in order to have the courage to tell me how they feel about me because he is anxious that he is going to cause a huge upheaval in his life only for me to reject him – I won’t.

Spirits also told me, he is trusting the wrong people, some one is backstabbing him and are not being completely honest to him about things.

He can only trust 2 women and 1 much older man apparently. The woman he has considered as a messenger is good, the older lady who is like a godmother and the older man.

This is very weird and interesting.

I honestly don’t know what I am talking about, but you will, apparently.

My spirits asked me if I am ready for my own life to be turned upside down too and to be taken out of my comfort zone in order to have the best possible relationship I can have for myself – a relationship which I will thrive in all areas of my life and heal from my past?

My answer is… Yes.

Because they’ve shown me the intensity of the love this guy will have about me, how protective they are going to be because they don’t want anybody hurting me anymore and he is going to try damned hard to make sure no one gets near me that way again.

They’ve shown me that I will be in a long-term state of anxiety when I am in his life because I am not used to certain things and they definitely said I would be outside of my comfort zone and potentially could be mingling with people who will be very aggressively judgemental about me – but this guy will soon put a stop to all that!

They say there is a major cultural adjustment too.

What I find weird is the name – it’s a very popular family name and all my spirits have told me is it’s the same as one of my older brothers.

I respect your privacy 100% and I will completely take your lead on matters regarding things.

I won’t reject you, because I never ignore my spirits, they believe you are the best for me – so I am waiting for you to make the first move! Simply because I don’t know who you are, duh!

They told me not to be afraid of your approach as it will be out of the ordinary.

I am terrified, but my spirits have told me that you are right about me… I am the master of adaptability, I have regenerated a lot over the years and overcame massive hurdles, I can do it again – especially with you as my guardian, protector, mentor and life partner.

For some reason it’s important to mention Elvis or connections to Elvis to you as that’s a sign you are waiting for. Coincidentally my aunt told me recently as I am losing weight I am looking a lot like Lisa Marie Presley, but I don’t see it! Was told to mention that.

Also to mention you lost some sleep last night and my hands really are that small.. confusing much… but ok… completely letting things out there I am not happy about – I AM GOING OUT ON A LIMB HERE!

Sorry about shouting that, getting more than a little weirded out by it all.

Also, about the heart chakra… stop that!

Oh my goodness it’s like this blog is becoming a descent into madness journal!

YES I ACCEPT YOU!

YES I AM TERRIFIED!

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!

BEWARE WHO YOU HAVE AS SO-CALLED HELPERS!

I LOVE YOU YOU NERVOUS UNCERTAIN BEAUTIFUL ENERGY OF A GUY!

Sorry, to shout – but I like, really need a hug and the kind of connection you are going to be to me. I know you are going to be difficult and bossy a little bit initially because you are insecure, I know you think I dawdle and could potentially waste my talent. I know you believe we’ve had a similar path. I know you really need someone who doesn’t shy away from your physical manifestations of love – I know you will always doubt how real all this is. Me too actually. But the spirits say, it’s a life long relationship, that’s meant to happen.

I am not in the habit of telling people they can’t have things, I am easy going, I am playful, I am not afraid to be weird at times. My confidence will grow when I am with you to be the person I was always meant to be, apparantly, I will become more bold and outrageous around you and you likewise in turn.

They say I am going to transform for the better around you and that you will feel like a kid again in every sense of the word – you will feel rejuvenated and healed, because of my strong maternal instinct of nurturing you and giving you the attention you need and deserve.

They say the worse part of the relationship will be my inability to accept how I can be, what goals I reach and what I can have – basically I have a limited resource and attainability mindset which will frustrate you no end. It’s apparantly the biggest battle we’ll have with each other. Me pushing against reaching higher and higher and you trying to make me reach the heights… you know?

Anyway – I kind of think I know what’s going on – but I am also unsure to trust it. Probably my limited mind-set again?

I don’t know why but the spirits show me that when I meet you, my stomach is going to be so upset, lol.

I suffer from nervous stomach and well, just expect to hear wear growls that’s all!

Thanks for reading!

Are you ok?

A spiritual friend I have called Izzy warned me that this could happen…

I was told that perhaps the tarot reading should be kept to myself, because it might undo the energies of the blessings coming my way, but I told Paul about what I wanted to do and he felt it is necessary to put it out there.

He said I simply have to.

As you know, I am reluctant to share much unless it goes through Paul first.

Because I am never sure if what I want to write for the blog is appropriate or not, as I am honest when I say, I have lived an isolated life.

But then something occurred to me when I was asleep last night that I should delete the post before it goes out, but I was so sleepy I didn’t wake up to do it immediately and forgot before it was posted.

I don’t like the energy I am picking up, I have a major headache and I feel very despondent and depressed, but I don’t know where it’s coming from.  I still feel determined energy coming my way, but it is also cautious and afraid now – like they feel tricked.  That hurts actually.

I am also concerned because for the past two to three days the back of my left hand has been very sore, like there are cuts or something on it, but there isn’t.

I have tried to sense where these energies are coming from and the only thing that comes to mind is something has happened to the guy who was going to come into my life.  Has he hurt his hand or something?

I know it is weird when I felt perfectly relaxed in the bath the other night but then I sensed someone was in a rage, but it wasn’t anybody in the house for a change.  I just find it really weird that I am taking on what feels like two peoples emotions, my own and probably theirs.

How can people who never met each other get that from each other, I don’t think I will ever understand…

Though the back of the hand might be poison ivy or something as I remember a flash dream a couple of nights back about poison ivy medicine… but never understood it.

Never experienced poison ivy, so wouldn’t know.

Anyway, I felt I needed to put this out there and I didn’t consult Paul this time either – as I have a feeling, although he and I are over, I kind of get a sense he wants both me and Emilia and kind of wanted to put the spanner in the works for me.  Because Paul is really scared that nobody is going to look after me as good as he can.

Well, am I not worth it then?  Sorry but I can’t help but feel like even Paul thinks the idea of me finding a Mr. Right is nonsense.

Thanks for reading…

What am I like?

How would I describe my personality?

In real life, offline, I am quite dippy and easily excitable and controlled by my emotions as well as my hormones; this leads me to looking rather childish and silly a lot of the time.

I am not self-deprecating here, I am just being honest!

There are many people who have told me that they believe my personality and my ways are very like people or characters they’ve seen on TV, the most common personality matches associated with me are; Betty White, Lucille Ball, Bette Midler, Miranda Hart and Anne Hathaway.

I am usually described as bubbly, cheeky, friendly, ditsy, playful, maternal, and creative with a one tracked mind that’s usually in the gutter!  I am also rather clumsy and seem to be rather intelligent in a lot of things, proficient in nothing and good at improvisation and confusing others to the extent I seem smarter than I really am.

That’s some talent when I come to think of it.

But the thing that stands out the most to a lot of people is the ditsy liberal hippy mama personality in me.  I seem to adopt the world and I do so in a very motherly kind of way, in fact I’ve been told it can be annoying to some people, because I care too much!

I have also been told that I can make people who are bad to others feel very small, very quickly – it’s never my intention to make anyone feel small, but apparently my putdowns when I am disappointed in people makes them feel like children again, so they’ve said.

Personally I don’t see it, but there you go.

I do see, however, my personality can be very much like Lucille Ball as Paul can tell anyone who asks! It is scary when I get to thinking I can fix something in the house on my own!

For example, in his opinion I am the only person in the world he knows who will use an electric breadknife to cut a swede (rutabaga) or still actually takes a carpet out onto the washing line to give it a darn good beating with the only thing suitable – an electric tennis racket!  Why is my tennis racket electric you may ask?  Flies would be my answer…

Thing is he acts like I am stupid, I don’t think he realises I take the batteries out when I do that!

My plans for the future terrify that guy!

“What do you want to do when we get some money and go on a holiday somewhere?” “Zorbing!” I reply;  “What’s that?” Oh I want to put myself into an inflatable ball and roll down a hill in it!

Honestly the guy thinks I am nuts!

But there you have it, me in a nutshell!

Flamingos, Ibises & signs

I am being stalked by images of flamingos and ibises today.

Usually these are signs I am missing something in my life and because of this, it is making me think about dressing primarily in pink or light red colours for the day.

Don’t ask why – but what I do find unusual for me, is that I feel like wearing makeup casually today and that’s not like me; unfortunately I haven’t got anything but eye shadow and that’s green, I want pink, light red, copper or orange.  If I had a selection I’d probably opt for copper.

It is definitely a trouser day, rather than skirts or dresses and it’s a flat shoe day (my most normal kind) despite feeling like a flamingo.

I have hot pink ballerina pumps that have a rose at the toes, so I am wearing them today.  I have pink linen trousers too, though I really want something tighter and warmer.  I am also wearing my hot pink fluffy cardigan over a white cami, because I have nothing else to match the feel of the day.

I look a mess really.

The meaning behind Flamingos and Ibises spiritually means different things, let’s explore that as I take animal signs very seriously, especially since the crows on the spinney across the house are loud today – meaning they are trying to give me a message!

Flamingos indicate;

A potential new romance is coming into my life.

Something beautiful is about to happen or I am taking my image more seriously.

I am finding my balance.

I am becoming graceful or I must approach something coming into my life with grace and poise.

Something vibrant is coming and when it does I should be as expressive and honest as I like.

Because the flamingo can indicate a new romance coming into my life, it tells me a lot about the personality of the person.  It indicates a flamboyant person, who is vibrant, funny, who has found their balance and is very fun and expressive.

The ibis indicates;

That I am finding my balance as it is very similar to the flamingo in this regard.

It also indicates that I should become adaptable in something that is soon to occur.

I am going to be united with an idea or a person and if it is a person, they have pure and honest intentions with me despite the fact that I may be uncomfortable with how strong willed they will come across – according to the ibis it is their mask that protects them from rejection and hurt and dishonest people.

Ibis also tells me that the thing or person I am to be united in I should have total trust in, because it will help heal me a lot and that the situation whatever it may be will help with my self-development on all levels, again, helping me to find my balance.

The ibis also teaches me to be brave regarding the coming future, that my lack of courage could cause instability, becoming knocked off balance and therefore missing a huge opportunity to start to heal myself.

I take signs very seriously, especially if they are from the animal world and I see them a lot in a short space of time.

Another thing I have been seeing a lot of in the past couple of weeks are signs of butterflies and dragonflies and other objects such as pocket watches, zips and keys, but today has been rather prominent with the ibis and flamingos in particular.

Happy reading!

Open honesty and healing

Henry is my inspiration to keep on going despite the depression, Henry is my son and he turned twelve on Sunday.

Other than him, the other things which keep me going are things I have to work hard to find and think about – it can take some training to learn how to remove yourself from your present state and look at yourself as though you are a stranger or a friend.

Most people can’t bear to look at themselves in a positive light, because most of them feel too attached to who they are, that they forget that everyone and everything is changeable and that if you just forget that you are you, for just a few moments, you can then see clearly and work things out in yourself.

For me, I stand back and pretend I am as perfect as I want to be – I imagine seeing the imperfect me right in front of me (easier to do in front of a mirror) but instead of judging who I see, I imagine that I love this person tremendously, because they have potential that they do not see – that they are in effect = my child!  A child who is very sensitive and a child who has been treated badly by others, a child who you have rescued and adopted!

You have to see yourself this way, so that you act cautiously and lovingly towards this frightened, abused and mislead creature; because you are going to be the one who rescues it wholly, changes it for the better and you are going to be the one who will make it happy and healthy!

Don’t see this person as the adult it might be, see it as a very young child, because that will trick your brain, a good method in making it more believable would be to make yourself look more childish, dress the part and put a mirror at a lower level than you, so you are looking down (effectively making yourself look smaller).

This works for me at times, when I have the opportunity to be alone.

For me, one of the biggest healing methods is the “inner child nurturing therapy” I have kind of learned about in dribs and drabs over the years.  Your parents were either good or not, but now you are an adult, you have to parent yourself and you must do it with the kindness of a good parent!

As a good parent, if something happens in your life that makes you uncomfortable or someone says or does things to you that makes you uncomfortable it is your responsibility to take it into hand and to tell the person that you don’t like it and to please stop.  You need to think in your mind, that this child needs someone to stand up for it and you are the only one who can do that, because this child needs to be saved from anymore turmoil.

In order to do this, you need to start understanding that you need to heal, you need to acknowledge the fact that you need change and that you and only you, can speak up about how things make you feel and to explain that this bad thing another person has done to you, is a trigger – so please stop.  If the person is a true out and out bully and they find amusement in this and continue their behaviour or it gets worse, then you need to remove yourself from this person or seek professional help via the police, because no one has the right to make you feel like a laughing stock for your sensitivities – no one has the right to do this to another person, so please stop taking their shit!

Would you tolerate a bully doing this to your adopted badly neglected and abused child?  If not, then why are you tolerating it for yourself?  What makes you different from that child?

Nothing, nothing at all!

You only believe you are worthless and you deserve it, because for so many years you have allowed other people to dictate to you how you should or shouldn’t think about yourself, instead of understanding that it is just lies to control you  in order to inflate their own egotistical needs!

So stop it, stop it now – stop feeding their egos – stop making them feel good, when you feel so awful!

Consider this…

What wonderful changes have you done to the world simply because you exist right now?

STOP THINKING TOO BIG ABOUT THIS ANSWER!

The little things count too!

I remember things I have done in my life that have helped others, without me, they would never have got through certain things – everyone on this planet has done this!  Only you were so busy abusing yourself that you didn’t realise and remember you did it.

I will give a few examples from my own life, which make me feel better about existing…

When I was 6yrs old a new girl came to join my class late in the year, she had muscular dystrophy and couldn’t make friends because other children saw her as very different, she was also mixed race and at the time this was still considered rather strange in the community I was raised in.  I was very popular in this school and I had a lot of friends, I didn’t like how people treated her and I told them all how I felt about what they are doing to her.

I told them I was very sad that people find enjoyment in hurting another person, especially a person who is so sick and very scared because she is new, that because they are mean to her I will sit with her and I will play only with her until they feel that they can be kind to her.

This changed and the girl became very popular too by the end of the week.  This young girl has always remembered me and she found me some years later to let me know that she is working towards a career in fashion now and she insists that this one day, changed her own opinion about herself and that it was because of me!  I never thought anything about it, because I left the school a few weeks later and literally thought everyone there would have forgotten me – but she didn’t!  She recognised me when we were in college, I didn’t recognise her, yet she still had her walking frame and though she did kind of stand out, I didn’t specifically associate this girl as her!

I have helped several complete strangers, one of which was an old lady in her eighties, she had her shopping bag on wheels caught in a drain and I was walking past and pulled it out without thinking.  She stopped me for a moment to thank me, and I said think nothing of it and walked off.  The old lady tried to call me back but I was late for work at the time and told her so – she eventually found me, it was easy because I was in uniform and she came to my workplace to seek me out and told my manager how nice I was to her and that she wanted to do something for me.  But I wouldn’t let her, she was so surprised at my kindness and said it was so rare these days that she tried to work something out with my boss.  But I wouldn’t let her reward me, she always remembered me as after this day, whenever we passed each other she’d say something friendly.

This same job place, there was a woman who was having a heart attack in store, she was frightened and the company said that in first aid situations like this, if you are late for your duties forego your humanity and get to your post – but I couldn’t leave this woman who was scared for her life.  I was reprimanded by the manager for being fifteen minutes late for the checkout services, but I wanted to go with the woman on the ambulance like she requested, but I was told I would lose my job.  She died, but later on in the week her daughter sought me out and told me what her mother said about what I tried to do for her and she gave me a gift.  Meanwhile, they spoke harshly to the manager about their mistreatment of me.

I also found a lost child, a young boy around ten years of age who couldn’t speak English, his mother couldn’t speak English either, when she found I was comforting her little boy and trying to find her, but her actions spoke louder than words.  Because she gripped my arm and bowed her head several times to my arm and I presume was thanking me wholeheartedly.  I think they were Chinese but I am unsure.  But that little boy could have come to great harm where he was, because he was so frightened he was curled up in a ball crying when I found him in a place where a car could have parked and hit him as in that area, cars often parked up onto the pavements without thinking.

I have also rescued a handful of people from suicide, spoke them through their hard time online (people I never met, but had online friendships with).

A few people have also turned away from a life of crime because of comforting words I supposedly had said to them which changed their ways and even gave a child a father.  What I mean is, I had a friend who fathered a child and his instant response was to run away and pretend she didn’t exist because he wasn’t ready to be a father.  I told him to speak this through with his girlfriend and work something out together about it, because running away will only cause both his girlfriend and daughter to hate him potentially.  He told me he was brutally honest to her about how he can’t commit to the child but he will do whatever he can to help her as long as he doesn’t have to live with them.  This worked out fine for them and in as little as eight months down the line he felt he had value as a father and eventually moved in and married her and now he is a happy present father.

A lot of people mess up their lives because they are afraid of being honest, because they think that their honesty is going to make things worse… how ironic, it is usually always the opposite!

Whenever someone has difficulties in their lives and they need a loved one to fully understand, they normally choose not to communicate it and things blow out of proportion.  I often suggest, well just tell them, but the answer is always – “I can’t, because (insert irrational fear here).  Those who have felt confident to do so, come back to me a few days later, thanking me, because, literally – their fear was worse than the reality of it!

My attitude is this… if a person hates you for your honesty and mistreats you for your honesty, then they don’t love you enough to be worthy of sharing your life!

Believe me when I say, there are more than enough people in the world who will share your beliefs, your traditions, your ways and ideas, you have just got to make the effort in looking for them and the only way you can do this, is by living your life as honestly and as openly as you can!

That is the key to good relationships – open honesty.
